So, a lot has happened over these past four months since I have been back home in Iowa. I have had an amazing time being home with my family and again being a part of my home church, Heartland. During this time back in Iowa Papa opened up an incredible opportunity for me to serve as an assistant house parent at Ruth Harbor while they searched for full-time house parents. I was so blessed to be able to join the incredible team at Ruth Harbor and pour into the young women the Lord sent there for “such a time as this.”
I also spent time with Papa seeking His heart and listening about what avenues He wanted me to follow to India. Even though He has revealed to me to go to the states of Madyha Pradesh, Gujarat, and Marashtra, that is a lot of territory and where in the world do I begin? I began researching some different ministries I had connections to. In May, I was invited to Minnesota to talk with the mission department at Hosanna Church and to meet one of their missionaries, Jon Borde, who has an amazing ministry in India. It was a wonderful, glorious time catching up with the crew up there and what made it more special is because they all feel like family. As I returned home to pray, I felt the Lord would cross our paths again in the future but it was not the direction I was to pursue at this time. Even though it didn’t seem like Papa was giving me any direct promptings to any specific ministries I was just resting in the process and waiting on Him.
In mid June, Papa began to prompt my heart to pursue going to the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, CA. He began to stir in my heart there was something there He had for me that I needed to pursue and go after. So, I filled out my application, and a couple of weeks later had a phone interview with one of the pastors. Before the interview I can say that I was about 75% sure this was the right step, but as I was on the phone call I had an overwhelming peace and excitement come over me that this was 100% the right step to take in preparation for India.
I have to tell you about my favorite part of the interview. Toward the end of the interview the pastor was going over some basic things about the school and telling me about the mission trips the students have the opportunity to participate in each school year. I had talked to him earlier in the conversation about India, so when it came to that part he said that he didn’t think there was a trip to India this year. Gasp! You could probably have heard my heart sink in that moment, and for a split second I was disappointed. Then his next words were, “You know, we haven’t made many in roads into India, but we really need to.” What? Yes! Absolutely and I am going to be a part of it. Now, I didn’t say that out loud to him, but I was shouting those exact words in my spirit.
Two and a half days after my interview I was officially accepted to the school. Wow! I am so excited on so many levels to see all Papa will unfold as I follow Him to BSSM and on to India!
So what now? Well, now I am completely trusting Him to provide all the finances I need to go to BSSM for tuition and some living expenses, as well as finding some kind of housing in the Redding area for the school year.
I’ll provide details soon of how you can better pray for me and send financial support if you are so led.
I know so many of you have been praying for me during this process and I have felt those prayers tremendously and I am so thankful for you and for them!!!!
